1,000 Foods to Eat Before You Die publication listed Kasias’s Pierogi as one of the top foods to eat before you die! It said pierogi are “sputtering-hot and juicy, providing satisfaction out of all proportion to their size and cost”.

Chicago Tribune called, over and over again, Kasia’s Pierogi “grandmother’s comforting creations: soft, buttery and perfectly simple”.

National Geographic Traveler recognized Kasia’s and our pierogi as one of the “167 places to savor the world.” The publication states that Kasia’s “points the way to what the reader really hungers for… authentic meals in the places that concocted or perfected them – great tastes inseparable from great places.”

Newsweek Magazine included Kasia’s as one of the top fifteen small food companies in the united states, saying that Kasia’s “produces exquisite food with the finest ingredients and [comfort food that has] transcended ethnic orientation”.

Kasia Bober

Impeccable
Quality & Taste

- A FAMILY TRADITION SINCE 1982 -

Founded by Kazimiera Bober, better known as “Kasia”, who at the age of 38, as a single mother who did not speak English, immigrated to the United States in 1974 with a dream of a better life. After many years of struggle, working up to 4 jobs at once, she decided to pursue something in which she was passionate about and excelled in - cooking.

In 1982, Kasia proudly opened the doors of Kasia’s Delicatessen for the first time. As a skilled and passionate cook, she dedicated herself to preparing traditional old family recipes, using only the finest and freshest ingredients. Being very disciplined and motivated, she cooked at night and ran the shop during the day. Working hard, her pierogi emerged as a customer favorite, winning numerous awards for their great taste, including being named “Chicago’s Best Pierogi” every year since 1999. Newsweek included her in its top 15 entrepreneurs. Many celebrities, including Martha Stewart and US Presidents have sampled her delicious pierogi.

Located in Chicago’s Ukrainian Village, Kasia’s Delicatessen is still a family business. Her family recipes are made fresh daily from scratch using only the finest ingredients with attention to quality & taste that’s ultimately timeless, just the way Kasia intended.
